Several readers suggested that we look into integrating text-to-speech technology with our blog. Thanks for the suggestion. We are glad to announce that we now have this technology working with our blog. It has worked out better than we expected. Having the moves read to you while you are playing the game makes a big difference.
The text-to-speech technology is not perfect. It has worked perfectly for us on laptops and desktops. Windows and Mac both support this technology. It has not worked so well on mobile devices. We recommend using this technology on your desktop or laptop while you play the game on your mobile device. If you have to use this technology on a mobile device, we will recommend the Opera browser. It seems to support text-to-speech technology better than other browsers.
To use text-to-speech, press the Play / Pause button. If you need a second to catch up with the moves, press the button again and it will pause the audio. Pressing the button again will start from where you had paused. If you missed a move, you can always refer to the moves listed below. To stop the audio, press the Stop button. If you press the Play / Pause button after pressing the Stop button, the audio will start from the beginning.
Please try out this new technology and let us know if you find it helpful.
The way I suggest using TTS (text-to-speech) on a iPhone is outlined below. You will need the Opera Mini or Dolphin Mobile browser and the MobilityWare App on your phone.
Let us know how TTS is working on your mobile device.
